New Working Committee of NJRC at SOS Bharatpur

A fresh election elected a 13 member working committee of Nepal Junior Red Cross Circle, SOS Hermann Gmeiner School Bharatpur on Wednesday. The election followed a week long process of registration, election campaign, display of electoral roll, protest and claim upon it etc.

Out of the eleven candidates of President and Vice-President, five for first and six for later, Krishna Giri and Ganga G.C have been elected for the most coveted posts respectively.  Other members included Manju Paudel, Ujjwal Sitaula, Aarati Paudel, Sandip Paudel, Sushma Gurung, Bikash Pandey, Sangita Shrestha, Arjun Gyawali, Roshan Sapkota, Prajwal Shrestha and Ranjata Sharma. “All the members of NJRC i.e. students from grade six to ten, actively took part in the election.” the Election Commissioner, Rajesh Bhujel said.

The formal function of the election process was chaired by the Patron of the Circle and School Principal, Mr Ganga B Gurung. Addressing the programme, Mr Gurung appreciated the democratic culture and appalauded the activities of the Circle in and beyond the School.

The Teacher Sponsor of the Circle, Mr Jagadish Dhakal illustrated the function as ‘Killing two birds with single stone’ for the election elected the working committee of the Circle democratically along with the election lessons.

The Circle will be responsible for every humanitarian activity to be organized in the School in its one year’s tenure.
